Artist Residency Skulpturenweg Vättis 2023

During our artist residency we met the Swiss photo artist Korinna Fröhlich.
Through a stimulating mutual exchange, associative, interrelated miniatures were created.

The breathtaking landscape of the Tamina Valley, the TektonikArena Sardona and the work and life of the important Swiss painter Hans Brühlmann were the themes that inspired us.

Here we present a small selection of our literary-musical Tamina Valley/Vättis associations. We also present the photographic associations of the Swiss photo artist Korinna Fröhlich, who in turn was inspired by our works. (Photos of her can be found on the German Site.)

A small selection of our literary and musical works:

Circle of Life  Inspired by Dunkla Stai (Dark Stone)
at the Tamina River, approx. 3 km before Vättis / St. Gallen.

Circle of life

From a thousand grains
planted love a song;
poured it with light,
until green tones sang;
duets longed for
to bloom.

Roots complained
about stones;
nights grew on mountains
slow;
days learned
to brave the wind.

Would be in the valley
growing not easier;
loose soil
promised golden harvest;
but what would remain after drought,
except threshed straw?

Aged light
shimmers silver;
to wood-turned years;
deep under black stone
springs bubble
still

the song of love.

Lake of Gigerwald (Gigerwaldsee) / Calfeisental | Foto: Eva Batt

My way – inspired by the Gigerwaldsee
in the Calfeisental, about 5 km behind Vättis
in the municipality of Pfäfers.

My way

Going back. – Past trees,
that grew; branched out.
Past the lake,
does it remember your reflection?

Past our years;
stony the way.
Ended with your heartbeat
also mine?

Amid withered days,
buds of hour.
Something is still alive.

Trees grow, branch out.
In the lake my reflection.
Stony the way. – Going forward.

Hike  inspired by hikes along the Tamina River
in the surroundings of Vättis.

Hike

Past shouldered,
Future bearing in mind,
forgot the word in between:
Present.
