Details
It is a multi-year artistic exploration of the life and work of the painter Marianne Lichtwald Hallbauer (1903 –1991) who emigrated from Germany to Norway – a project Christiane and Eva began in 2024 during their first artist residency at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV) in Trondheim.
Touched by Marianne's expressive painting style and her deep, perceptible connection with nature and people, the first poetic lines and melodic sounds immediately took shape in the thoughts of the writer and the composer.
Profoundly moved by Marianne’s biography, and through intensive research with the support of institutions, such as Ringve Music Museum, art associations, galleries and conversations with contemporary witnesses who knew Marianne, the duo TonSatz began creating the first poems and compositions – not in a documentary sense, but as free artistic reflections and associations.
Ongoing research will allow Christiane and Eva to explore further dimensions and create additional works.
Looking ahead to 2027 and 2028, they plan to present a poetry and music cycle in Trondheim and the region of Trøndelag and Innlandet – a tribute to Marianne Lichtwald Hallbauer, to remember and honour her life and work.
